Oton National High School learners took part in the Project Abot-Kamay (PAK) bootcamp held at Urban Glamp Resort, Oton, Iloilo, August 30 to September 1.
Jewel Jaspe, Flowrence Caños, and Myra Lumauag joined the lectures and activities led by Team Dugong Bughaw (TDB), a non-profit organization which aims to spread awareness and broaden the understanding of HIV.
Project Abot Kamay seeks to combat HIV stigma, promote awareness, and advance HIV prevention initiatives in Iloilo.
During the activity, the participants were empowered by resource speakers from TDB – Dr. Jasper Ruby Vijar, Co-Founder & Programs Director; Abigail Amon, Co-founder & Comms & Ops Manager; Rynevel Labiano, Partnerships Manager; Christian Simpao; and Raymart Eufracio, an ONHS alumnus, who is now the team’s Monitoring & Evaluation Officer.
Furthermore, this initiative engaged the participants in team building activities, which gave them a chance to work with other schools from the municipalities of Concepcion, Leon, Dueñas, and Pototan.
The learners were accompanied by SSLG Adviser Miss Peachy Mae Espino and Guidance Counselor, Mr. Donie Alvon Mañosa.
